7:2 And the sons of Tola; Uzzi, and Rephaiah, and Jeriel, and
Jahmai, and Jibsam, and Shemuel, heads of their father's
house, [to wit], of Tola: [they were] valiant men of might
in their generations; b whose number [was] in the days of
David two and twenty thousand and six hundred.
(b) That is, their number was found to be this big when
David counted the people, (2Sa 24:1).
7:3 And the sons of Uzzi; Izrahiah: and the sons of Izrahiah;
Michael, and Obadiah, and Joel, Ishiah, c five: all of
them chief men.
(c) Meaning, the four sons and the father.
7:6 [The sons] of Benjamin; Bela, and Becher, and d Jediael,
e three.
(d) Also called Ashbel, (Ge 46:21, Nu 26:38).
(e) Who were the chief: or else there were seven in all as
it appears in (Ge 46:21).
7:12 Shuppim also, and Huppim, the children of Ir, [and] Hushim,
the sons of f Aher.
(f) Meaning that he was not the son of Benjamin, but of Dan
(Ge 46:23).
7:13 The sons of Naphtali; Jahziel, and Guni, and Jezer, and
Shallum, g the sons of Bilhah.
(g) These came from Dan and Naphtali, who were the sons of
Bilhah, (Ge 46:23,24,25).
7:18 And h his sister Hammoleketh bare Ishod, and Abiezer, and
Mahalah.
(h) Meaning, the sister of Gilead.
7:21 And Zabad his son, and Shuthelah his son, and Ezer, and
Elead, whom the men of i Gath [that were] born in [that]
land slew, because they came down to take away their
cattle.
(i) Which was one of the five principal cities of the
Philistines and who slew the Ephraimites.
7:25 And Rephah [was] his k son, also Resheph, and Telah his
son, and Tahan his son,
